Winston & Strawn sponsored Public Counsel's 2012 William O. Douglas Awards Dinner held on April 22, 2012 in Los Angeles. Among others, this year Public Counsel honored Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Elie Wiesel with the William O. Douglas Award and Warner Bros. Entertainment with the Corporate Achievement Award.

Founded in 1970, Public Counsel is the largest pro bono public interest law firm in the world, serving as the public interest law office of the Los Angeles County and Beverly Hills Bar Associations, and the Southern California affiliate of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.
