Winston & Strawn sponsored The Annual McCrorey Family YMCA Martin Luther King Prayer Breakfast, held Monday, January 16, 2012 in Charlotte.

The annual MLK breakfast first began in 1993 as a way to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and has grown in popularity from 200 attendees to well over 1000. The breakfast is an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrates the life of Dr. King and his commanding tenets of the American Dream: Freedom, Democracy, and Opportunity for All. Proceeds from the event provided YMCA scholarships to deserving individuals and families in the Charlotte area. Bishop Vashti McKenzie, the consecrated bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, served as the keynote speaker.
