A litigation associate participated in the panel titled "Digital Dilemmas: The Price and Perils of E-Discovery." This panel addressed the following issues:
- How California's new e-Discovery rules differ from its federal counterpart
- Attorneys' ethical obligations in pursuing and responding to e-Discovery
- Protecting attorney-client privileged communications with vendors and in electronic production
- Proactive measures that companies and their outside counsel can take to control run-away e-Discovery costs
- Recent court guidance highlighting the duties of counsel in complying with e-Discovery obligations, and sanctions for violations and abuse
