Winston & Strawn Secures Dismissal of Securities Fraud Lawsuit for Clients J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and JPMorgan Chase & Co.

A team of Winston & Strawn attorneys secured the dismissal of a $95 million securities fraud lawsuit in New York County Supreme Court on behalf of clients J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and JPMorgan Chase & Co. The case involved two private debt securities placements issued by a now-defunct Australian gold mining company, for which J.P. Morgan Securities had served as private placement agent. The plaintiffs, a group of hedge funds that purchased the debt securities, alleged that scheme to defraud investors. The Court granted Winston & Strawn's motion to dismiss the complaint in its entirety.
