Winston & Strawn was listed among Law360's White Collar Practice Groups of the Year. The firm's high-profile cases and deep bench were significant factors for this recognition.

Particular emphasis was placed on Dan Webb's representation of high-profile defendants William Cellini – concerning a host of charges connected to the public corruption case against former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich – and former CEO of BP PLC Tony Hayward – in connection with the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Winston's representation of John Schulte, the former CEO of major medical device manufacturer Spectranetics Corp., was also noted as a significant success. On the antitrust front, new lateral partner Seth Farber's representation of two Japanese companies, Nippon Seiki Co. Ltd. and NEC Corp – both including price-fixing allegations, among others – illustrates Winston & Strawn's unique ability to assist Japanese clients facing legal problems in the U.S.

In addition to these high-profile matters, Winston & Strawn's practice grew with the addition of Mr. Farber and Suzanne Jaffe Bloom in New York. The firm's tally of former prosecutors now includes 17 assistant U.S. attorneys and two U.S. attorneys.

The editors of Law360 reviewed nearly 550 entries that were submitted by almost 100 law firms. Winners were selected based on the significance of the litigation wins or deals worked on; the size and complexity of the litigation wins or deals worked on; and the number of significant, large or complex deals the group worked on or lawsuits the group won.
