Winston & Strawn Partners Recognized in 2012 WTR 1000 Rankings
March 20, 2012
Winston & Strawn was recognized for the second year in a row by the World Trademark Review (WTR) in their "WTR 1000" rankings. The World Trademark Review is an independent publication that lists the world's leading trademark attorney firms and individuals. It is the first and only standalone ranking publication focusing on trademark issues.
For a second time, Winston was cited for the firm's overall strength in trademark matters in California and New York. This year, for his work handling trademark disputes for high-tech businesses, the "WTR 1000" recognized Michael Elkin, managing partner of Winston & Strawn's New York office.
Also with her second appearance on the "WTR 1000," San Francisco partner Jennifer Golinveaux, who splits her time between trademark prosecution and portfolio management and contentious matters, was noted as "smart, prompt, and through" for her highly publicized U.S. Patent and Trademark Office proceedings.
The "WTR 1000" research covered more than 50 key jurisdictions and identifies the leading practitioners and their firms in both contentious and non-contentious work. Over three months, WTR conducted telephone interviews and exchanged correspondence with hundreds of lawyers, attorneys, and their clients involved with trademarks. Individuals qualify for a ranking in the "WTR 1000" upon receiving sufficient positive feedback from market sources with knowledge of their practice and the market within which they operate. Firms qualify for a listing on the basis of their depth of expertise, market presence, and the level of work they are typically instructed on.
