Winston & Strawn was recognized for the sixth consecutive year by the World Trademark Review (WTR) in WTR 1000 – The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals. WTR is an independent publication that lists the world's leading trademark practices and practitioners. Winston is ranked at the national level, as well as regionally in Illinois, New York, and California.

The “indomitable” Ronald Rothstein is recognized in the Illinois region for his representation of World Diamond Trademarks, which recently sued competitor Blue Nile for trade dress and marque infringement.

In New York, WTR states “worldwide general commercial firm Winston & Strawn takes the laurels for its potent marketing, advertising and trademark practice” and says Michael Elkin, chair of the firm’s Copyright, Entertainment & Digital Media Practice, “is a familiar face in ground-breaking cases in the field.”

Noted for the firm’s international reach and deep trademark bench, WTR says Winston “is a prime destination for bet-the-company litigation.” Jennifer Golinveaux “has a keen understanding of the vital importance of brand identity for start-ups in the race for market share and her surefootedness acquits her well in the fast-paced digital world.” Also revered is “leader in the profession” Laura Franco, a “great resource” for clients seeking nuanced advice. “She is business minded and takes a highly practical view of the situation.” Becky Troutman is the “transactional doyenne, dispensing sage guidance on the IP components of mergers and acquisitions, e-commerce, licenses and distribution agreements.”
