Winston’s New Female California IP Partners Featured in The Recorder and Law360

The addition of Intellectual Property Partner Nimalka Wickramasekera to Winston’s Los Angeles office was featured in The Recorder on September 1 and Law360 on September 6, 2017.
The Recorder article, titled “Winston & Strawn’s Expansion Efforts Continue in California,” highlights how Nimalka was drawn after learning Silicon Valley Managing Partner Kathi Vidal had joined Winston. Kathi is a board member at ChIPs, an organization that supports women in technology, and had expressed a strong interest in attracting diverse attorneys to the practice. “[I] was excited about Winston & Strawn’s growth on the West Coast and the opportunity to work with a first-chair female trial lawyer.”
The Law360 article, “Winston & Strawn Adds Two IP Partners In California,” highlights Nimalka’s focus on patent, trade secret, and commercial litigation in a variety of tech-focused disciplines, including telecommunications, computer hardware, health care, medical devices, and biotechology. She has extensive courtroom experience and have recovered millions of dollars in patent disputes.
Winston has hired 16 female partners so far in 2017, and Nimalka was praised as one of the “brightest and most skilled trial lawyers I’ve ever met...” explaining that her her intellect is “unparalleled.”
