Winston Receives High Marks in 2007 Am Law Arbitration Scorecard

Winston & Strawn ranked No. 5 among the top global law firms serving as arbitration counsel in The American Lawyer's 2007 "Arbitration Scorecard." The survey results were based on AmLaw's identification of 232 active treaty and contract arbitrations in which $1 billion or more was in dispute during the period from January 2005 to June 2007.

The June 2007 issue of AmLaw Focus Europe highlighted some of these major arbitrations, including IPOC v. OAO CT-Mobile (Russia), OAO Telecominvest (Russia), and TeliaSonera (Sweden and Finland). In this $1.5 billion case before the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, Winston represented IPOC International Growth Fund in its claim of a 25 percent stake in Russian mobile phone operator MegaFon.
