Winston Partners Recognized in 2017 Benchmark Litigation’s “Under 40 Hot List”

Winston & Strawn Partners Jeffrey Amato, Michael Bittner, Matthew Carter, Eva Cole, and John Sanders have been named to Benchmark Litigation’s “Under 40 Hot List 2017.” Now in its second year, the list honors the achievements of the nation’s most accomplished legal partners, highlighting young, up-and-coming attorneys through a process of peer review and case examination.
New York-based Jeffrey Amato handles complex multi-forum disputes, principally in the areas of international cartel litigation and government investigations, financial services and consumer class actions, and arbitration. He has experience in white-collar criminal defense and corporate internal investigations, including representing individual defendants in federal and state courts at the trial, appellate, and post-conviction levels.
Michael Bittner is based in the firm’s Dallas office and focuses his practice primarily on intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on patent litigation. He has experience representing clients in a wide variety of industries and technologies, including data management, electronic commerce, financial services, petrochemical engineering, robotics, and medical devices.
Matthew Carter, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office, represents clients in state and federal courts throughout the United States in commercial, criminal, and appellate litigation. Matthew has served, by appointment, as a Special Assistant Attorney General in Illinois and Deputy Special Prosecutor in Cook County.
New York-based Eva Cole concentrates her practice on civil antitrust litigation, class actions, and international cartel investigations led by enforcement agencies around the world. She has particularly distinguished experience representing clients in the electronics, sports, and private equity industries.
John Sanders, a founding partner of the firm’s Dallas office, focuses his practice on complex business litigation. He has extensive experience representing clients in arbitration proceedings, including those administered by the American Arbitration Association and JAMS.
