Winston Hosts Symposium on the State of Diversity and Inclusion in the Legal Profession

On October 23, Winston & Strawn partnered with The Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession (IILP) to present the The IILP Review and Symposia on The State of Diversity and Inclusion in the Legal Profession.
The American legal profession has been struggling with the issue of being a more diverse and inclusive profession for over a century. Law firms, corporations, bar associations, law schools, and other governmental and nonprofit entities have all provided leadership on the matter. Efforts continue but the breadth and complexity of the issue have resulted in disjointed endeavors making it difficult for practicing lawyers, judges, and others invested in achieving greater inclusion in the profession.
The IILP Review and Symposia provide an easy and convenient source for data and information regarding diversity in the legal profession and serves as a tool for those who work on diversity-related issues. This year’s symposium featured:
- Highlights of the most current data and statistics about diversity within the legal profession;
- A special presentation on transformative steps to a more inclusive profession; and,
- A discussion about the state of diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
