Winston Attorneys Inducted Into the 2026 Lawdragon Hall of Fame

Winston & Strawn partners Jonathan Birenbaum, Billie Ellis, and Laura Petroff were named among the 2026 class of the Lawdragon Hall of Fame Inductees. The honor recognizes outstanding lawyers who have made remarkable and lasting contributions to the legal profession. 

Jonathan focuses on complex energy and infrastructure transactions, including acquisitions, financings, and the development of renewable and conventional power projects. He is widely recognized for his work in the energy sector, having been named to Lawdragon’s “500 Leading Energy Lawyers” and consistently ranked by leading legal directories including Chambers USA and The Legal 500 U.S. He has also been named as a Hall of Fame lawyer for Renewable and Alternative Power by The Legal 500.

Billie’s practice consists of a broad spectrum of private equity, corporate and real estate transactions, including acquisitions, financings, development and sales of properties and companies. He is widely recognized for his leadership and impact in the legal community, having been named a “Lion of the Bar,” honored by Texas Lawyer’s Preferred Excellence Awards, and is the only Texas transactional attorney in 2025 who was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America^®in three categories. 

Laura is a seasoned labor and employment litigator with more than 30 years of experience representing major employers in litigation, preventive counseling and complex workplace disputes. She has earned widespread recognition for her leadership and advocacy, including a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 California Legal Awards and inclusion on Lawdragon’s “500 Leading U.S. Corporate Employment Lawyers” and The Best Lawyers in America^® lists.
