Winston Attorneys Discuss U.S. Department of Justice’s China Initiative on Trade Secret Theft

Steve Grimes, partner and chair of Winston & Strawn’s Asia Litigation Practice, spoke at a breakfast briefing titled “U.S. Department of Justice’s China Initiative on Trade Secret Theft” hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai on February 26, 2019. With trade secret theft grabbing headlines for criminal arrests, as part of both country's political platforms, and across the civil legal landscape, Steve discussed the risks for U.S. companies doing business in China and what they are doing to both guard against and investigate theft of their trade secrets through proactive compliance initiatives. Steve was joined by co-speaker Dr. Tim Klatte, head of forensics advisory services at Grant Thornton, Shanghai.
