In a recent interview with Crain’s Chicago Business, Winston & Strawn Chairman Steve D’Amore and Chicago Office Managing Partner Bill O’Neil discussed the firm’s new Chicago office at 300 N. LaSalle, marking the latest step in the firm’s ongoing investment in its hometown and continued growth across key markets. Overlooking the Chicago River, the new space reflects Winston’s focus on collaboration, flexibility, and creating a modern environment that supports both its people and clients.

In the article, Steve emphasized that the move aligns with the firm’s broader growth strategy. “Like every other market that we are in, major commercial centers, we are constantly on the lookout and working on growing both organically with new lawyers coming out of law schools, and also people that are moving from other parts of the legal industry, other law firms, from government,” he said. “We are investing in those cities.”

He added that the new design balances efficiency with connection, “Law firms are doing the same thing that we are doing, which is trying to be more efficient about the use of space and using that post-COVID drive to balance the importance of being in our communities and being in our offices with recognizing some appropriate flexibility.”

Bill said the new space embodies the culture that Winston is known for. “When you go to work and you are in a place that is buzzing and has some excitement, you are more energized to want to be there,” he said. “That is the environment, the culture that I think we are going to foster in the new space.”

The move reflects Winston’s continued investment in Chicago as a global hub for business and innovation, strengthening the firm’s ability to serve clients locally and worldwide while deepening its roots in the city where it all began.
