Winston & Strawn proudly sponsored the Harvard Law School Blockchain and FinTech Initiative’s Fourth Annual Conference at Harvard Law School on April 25, 2025. The conference included participants from leading digital asset companies and students from Harvard Law School, Harvard Business School, Harvard Kennedy School, and Harvard College.

Kimberly Prior, Digital Assets co-chair, moderated the panel “Regulating Market and Blockchain Structure” which included speakers from Bain Capital Crypto, Blockchain Association, EY, and others. The panel covered:

  • The current regulatory environment for digital assets companies and how new market structure legislation would change the regulatory landscape; and
  • The regulatory framework in the EU, how market participants view this framework and how it might interact with U.S. market structure changes.

Daniel Stabile, Digital Assets co-chair, spoke on the “In Conversation: Navigating Uncertain Waters With In-House Counsel” panel with attorneys from Crypto.com, OpenSea, and Binance.US. The speakers discussed:

  • The role of in-house attorneys in helping develop law and regulation regarding the industry sector;
  • Congress’ prioritization of stablecoin legislation and the evolution of the industry’s thinking on market structure legislation; and
  • The SEC’s approach to non-fungible tokens and marketplaces.
