Winston & Strawn Co-hosts and Presents Cross-border White Collar Event

Winston & Strawn and Kaye Trueba Abogados co-hosted and presented “Cross-Border Transactions: The Importance of Proactive Risk Management Under the U.S./Mexico Regulatory Frame” on August 7 in Cuauhtemoc, Mexico.

Panelists from Winston & Strawn, KTA Abogados, and representatives from the Mexican government and financial institutions explored the implications of shifting priorities of financial crimes in Mexico and the U.S. Panelists discussed proactive measures to mitigate risk and ensure effective compliance by financial institutions, businesses, and high net-worth individuals.

The first panel, “Money Laundering and Tax Evasion,” addressed recent and anticipated enforcement efforts of U.S. and Mexican authorities against financial crimes involving tax evasion, money laundering, and sanctions, as well as recommended planning and risk management practices.

“Anti-Corruption Compliance,” the second panel, discussed the Mexican and U.S. anticorruption systems, their enforcement activities, potential coordination, and corporate compliance programs to manage related risks.
