December 9, 2020

On December 9, Winston & Strawn’s Intellectual Property (IP) Department conducted an IP basics seminar that covered trademark, copyright, and patent legalities. The program also outlined IP tips and tricks required to run a successful entity. This event was hosted in partnership with Black Connect and in conjunction with the organization’s launch of a pro bono legal program for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations.

This training was part of a series of legal basics modules that help Black-owned and founded small businesses, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations avoid costly mistakes and build sustainable businesses.

Thank you to Winston & Strawn’s volunteer presenters—Partners Natalie Arbaugh, Diana Leiden, Kurt Mathas, and Krishnan Padmanabhan—who have taken the lead in preparing this educational program as a new pro bono opportunity through the firm’s Racial Justice and Equity Council.

This event was only open to members of Black Connect.
