New York – March 3, 2026 - Winston & Strawn LLP announced today that Structured Finance Partner Shan Haider has joined the firm’s Transactions Department in New York.

Shan advises institutional capital providers in deploying capital through various investment vehicles, in highly regulated markets, providing bespoke solutions to meet strategic objectives. He regularly represents asset managers, specialty finance companies, private funds, registered investment companies, and originators across a broad range of consumer and real estate-backed asset classes.

Shan joins the firm shortly after the arrivals of Transactions Partners David Love and Patrick Valenti in Chicago. His strong residential focus complements Winston’s Residential Asset Finance & Securitization platform and further adds to the firm’s capabilities in traditional whole-loan trades, excess Mortgage Service Rights (MSR) acquisitions, MSR financings, and whole-loan trades and repackaged assets.

“I am excited to join Winston, which is an exceptional platform for the continued growth of my practice,” said Shan. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to build on the firm’s existing strengths and transactions capabilities to deliver creative solutions to clients.”

His practice spans whole-loan acquisitions and forward flow arrangements, MSR acquisitions and financings, back-leverage facilities, securitizations—including RMBS and pass-through structures—and commercial and esoteric asset-backed transactions, including CRE CLOs. He brings specialized expertise in risk retention structuring, NAIC-sensitive capital solutions, and facilitating open-end mutual fund investments in private asset-based credits, and designing investment platforms for asset managers in regulated environments.

“We’re pleased to welcome Shan to Winston,” said Transactions Department Co-Chairs Brad Vaiana and Tim Kincaid. “Shan’s experience will further strengthen our residential asset finance and securitization capabilities while enhancing our ability to structure innovative, regulatory-informed solutions for clients. His depth of regulatory knowledge adds tremendous value to the firm.”

“Shan is a fantastic addition in New York,” said New York Office Managing Partner Krishnan Padmanabhan. “We want to grow the office strategically, in ways that drive results for clients and build upon our culture. Shan’s collaborative and client-driven approach reflects what we value at Winston.”
