Firm Bolsters Real Estate Practice with New Lateral Partner
NEW YORK, NY - Winston & Strawn LLP has announced William ("Bill") X. Lang has joined the firm's New York office as a partner in the real estate practice. Mr. Lang, formerly a partner at Nixon Peabody, focuses his practice on commercial real estate transactions and financing matters. His arrival adds depth to Winston & Strawn's real estate practice, which represents major domestic and international corporations, financial institutions, real estate funds, and other high-level market participants in connection with a wide range of investment, development, acquisition, and financing activities.

Mr. Lang has experience representing clients in the acquisition and sale of commercial and multi-family properties, leasing of commercial and retail properties from both the landlord and tenant perspective, and borrower side financing of commercial properties. Additionally, he represents commercial lenders in connection with restructurings of distressed assets, including workouts, forbearance agreements, notes sales, deed-in-lieu of foreclosure agreements and litigation related to foreclosures of real property.

Mr. Lang is actively engaged in pro bono matters. He has been honored by The Legal Aid Society of New York with the Pro Bono Publico award in 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012. Mr. Lang earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A. from Fordham University.
