Two Winston Attorneys Named 2020 Law360 MVPs
October 5, 2020
Winston & Strawn Partners Jeffrey Kessler and Cari Stinebower were named 2020 Law360 MVPs. The elite slate of attorneys chosen as Law360’s 2020 MVPs have distinguished themselves from their peers by securing hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters, and record-breaking deals.
Jeffrey is one of only four attorneys named as an MVP in the Sports & Betting category and has been named an MVP by Law360 in this category for three consecutive years. His biggest accomplishment this year was the Ninth Circuit's decision in May to uphold a landmark 2019 ruling that found many of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's rules that prevent college players from being paid violate antitrust laws. Cari is one of five attorneys named as an MVP in the International Trade category. She was recognized for her negotiation of the removal of ships from a U.S. Treasury Department blacklist, in two cases bringing the vessels back online in a fraction of the time it usually takes to reestablish good standing, and helped a fleet of vessels facing civil forfeiture avoid designation altogether.
