Winston Attorneys Speak at Inaugural Penn Law Sports Law Symposium

Winston & Strawn Partner David Greenspan, based in the firm’s New York office, spoke at the Inaugural Penn Law Sports Law Symposium on February 28, 2014. The theme of this seminar, presented by the Heisman Trust, was titled “A Blurred Line: Issues Surrounding the Transition from Amateur to Professional Status in Sports.”
Mr. Greenspan presented "Labor and Collective-Bargaining Issues Relating to the Rookie Transition in the National Football League." He was joined by Andrew Brandt, ESPN Business and Legal Analyst and Former General Counsel/VP of Football Administration for the Green Bay Packers; Richard Berthelson, Former Interim Director and General Counsel of NFLPA; and Benjamin C. Block of Covington & Burling, LLP.
Other panels, in addition to a keynote address from Jim Delany, Commissioner of the Big Ten Conference, included:
