Susan Nash Speaks at Healthcare Яevolution® Conference

Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Partner Susan Nash spoke at the 2018 Healthcare Яevolution® Conference October 28-29 in Orlando, Florida. This event combines healthcare, self-funding, medical travel, wellness, benefits, and insurance as well as addressing innovative solutions and disruptive ideas to common problems and challenges in the healthcare industry.
On October 28, Susan participated in a certification training program titled “Corporate Health & Well-being.” This course was part of the curriculum to become a Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist. Topics included:
- How to successfully implement and manage a wellness program in a corporate setting,
- The latest rules and regulations issued by the Department of Labor, and
- How to restructure company policy to remain compliant with guidelines issued by the EEOC, HIPAA, ACA, and ADA.
As part of the conference, Susan also spoke on October 29 at the Healthcare Reform & Trumpcare Summit on the topic of “Potential ACA Reform Efforts Post 2018 Election.” The summit addressed the current state of the ACA, IRS reporting and penalties, and the effects of changes in federal law on employers in states across the country.
Susan has over 25 years’ experience in the area of health care reform and health and welfare benefits. She regularly assists employers with their health care reform strategy and compliance with laws affecting group health plans, such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA and the Internal Revenue Code (IRC). Her practice focuses on working with employers and vendors on a broad range of health plans, including medical, prescription drug, wellness programs, on-site clinics, telemedicine, disability, mental health benefits, cafeteria, and consumer-directed, such as health reimbursement arrangements and health savings accounts.
