Richard Semple Featured in Q&A with IFLR

Winston & Strawn partner Richard Semple was featured in a Q&A with IFLR, where he discussed his career in real estate finance. Richard shared insights on his day-to-day work, current projects in property finance, the key qualities for success in the field and common misconceptions about the role. He also reflected on his inspirations and offered advice for aspiring lawyers.

“The most exciting – or perhaps, in an admittedly lawyerly fashion, the most satisfying or enjoyable – aspect of the job for me is the initial creation or review of transaction documents. The ensuing process of negotiation and agreement leading up to completion is what ultimately makes any deal truly exciting,” he said. “I don’t find any particular elements of the role especially stress-inducing. As with any job, I’m sure, moments of frustration and irritation arise but in general I tend to think one should endeavor not to be overly, or at all, stressed out by any of it.”
