Reed Stephens Discussed Challenges in Deal Making for Health Insurers with AIS Health

Winston & Strawn partner Reed Stephens spoke with AIS Health about challenges health insurers may face when completing deals in 2024, such as high interest rates and government intervention. In December 2023, the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice finalized updated merger guidelines for the first time since 2020 noting the guidelines “are not themselves legally binding, but provide transparency into the Agencies' decision-making process.”
Reed said the guidelines “will continue to influence considerations that have the appearance of affecting product or service pricing to consumers.”
