Paul Amiss Speaks with Global Finance Magazine About UK SPAC IPO Trends

Winston & Strawn London Partner Paul Amiss recently spoke with Global Finance Magazine about special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) and their surge in popularity with investors across the globe. Paul addressed this trend’s effects—or lack thereof—on the UK market.

As he explains in the piece, there is “plenty of sponsor interest” in the UK “but no market for SPACs exists.” Paul added that one of the barriers of adoption is the fact that UK-listed SPACS usually do not offer a “redemption” option, where investors can get money back if they do not like or agree with a proposed merge.
