Partner Aldo Badini Discusses Pro Bono Work with AmLaw Daily
August 24, 2012
Aldo Badini, a litigation partner in the firm’s New York office, was quoted in the August 24, 2012, AmLaw Daily article titled “Pro Bono 2012: Dewey's Former Pro Bono Clients Feel Strain of Firm's Closure.”
The article discusses the effect of Dewey & LeBoeuf’s closure on pro-bono clients.
With the addition of multiple former Dewey attorneys to the firm, Winston & Strawn took on a former Dewey case filed against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on behalf of Latinos in the New York area who were subjected to predawn raids in 2007 aimed at rooting out illegal immigrants. "We think the raids were really an abominable abuse of the Fourth and Fifth Amendments [which protect against unreasonable searches and seizures and abuse of government authority in a legal proceeding]," said Mr. Badini, adding that he made sure Winston & Strawn could take on the matter before joining the firm.
