Papavizas Speaks at Offshore Alternatives 2011

Maritime partner Charlie Papavizas, based in Winston & Strawn's Washington, D.C. office, spoke at Offshore Alternatives 2011, held March 1-2, 2011 in Washington, D.C. This marine executive conference examined the development of offshore wind, wave, current and renewable energies.

Mr. Papavizas presented "Revisiting the Jones Act and off shore renewable energy development" on March 2.

Other presentations included:

• Design considerations for off shore wind turbines in U.S. waters;
• HSE risk management: Tools for identifying hazards and managing major accident risk in the off shore wind industry; and
• Off shore wind farm maintenance: What vessels are required.
