Winston & Strawn partner Michael Elkin spoke at Columbia Law School’s Spring IP Speaker Series on February 10, 2015.
Mr. Elkin presented "Aereo and Its Aftermath," which discussed the Supreme Court’s 2014 decision in ABC v. Aereo. Specifically, the session addressed which activities the Court foreclosed in its decision and which are left open. Mr. Elkin also discussed new strategies an Aereo successor might consider and if the Aereo opinion or subsequent developments imply how they might fare.
Mr. Elkin is the managing partner of Winston & Strawn’s New York office and chair of the firm’s copyright, entertainment, and digital media practice.
