Michael Elkin Recognized by American Lawyer and Hollywood Reporter

Winston & Strawn litigation partner Michael Elkin, who practices in copyright, digital media, and entertainment law, was named by the American Lawyer as “Litigator of the Week” and also recognized by the Hollywood Reporter as a “Power Lawyer” for litigation.
 
Mr. Elkin was honored as “Litigator of the Week” on behalf of his successful opposition of a motion for a preliminary injunction (following trial) by 17 television broadcasters and studios to shut down a high-profile mobile streaming television system in the Southern District of New York. (This was Mr. Elkin’s second time within the past year appearing as “Litigator of the Week”.)
 
Additionally, Mr. Elkin has been recognized by The Hollywood Reporter as a “Power Lawyer” in litigation. The Hollywood Reporter recognized Mr. Elkin’s recent victories in copyright litigation in the media industry and his precedent-setting work championing the safe harbor provision of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. This is the fifth time Mr. Elkin has been named a “Power Lawyer” in the Hollywood Reporter’s exclusive lawyer listing.

Mr. Elkin is a member of the firm’s executive committee and is the managing partner of the firm’s New York office.
