Meeting the Growing Need for Counsel in Core Legal Disciplines Affecting the Power, Oil & Gas and Infrastructure Markets: A Q&A With Winston & Strawn’s Mike Blankenship
March 9, 2021
In a recent Q&A with Texas Lawyer, Houston Partner Mike Blankenship discusses Winston & Strawn’s new cross-disciplinary Energy & Infrastructure Industry Group, as well as his expectations of the trends and obstacles for the Texas energy market in the coming years.
“The Energy & Infrastructure Industry Group was formed to integrate our traditional oil and gas group with our renewables and infrastructure group to provide for a larger group that is sharing clients,” Mike said. “As you may know, traditional energy companies are moving more toward the energy transition, which includes renewables and about work. We thought it would be best if we all worked together as a firm to help each other out and share knowledge and resources. It will be beneficial to all of our clients.”
He also said that he expects to do more energy transition work—in which Texas will lead the way—as well as continue helping clients with deal work, commercial work, and through regulatory issues.
