The life and career of Winston & Strawn chairman Dan Webb is chronicled in the recently released book, May it Please the Court – A Story About One of America’s Greatest Trial Lawyers.

Written by the Honorable Charles P. Kocoras, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the book walks the reader through some of the most important trials of the past 40 years—from Operation Greylord and the Iran-Contra affair to trustbusting attempts on Microsoft and Philip Morris.

The book features Mr. Webb’s insights on:

  • Establishing and challenging witness credibility
  • What makes an effective exhibit
  • Opening statements, cross-examinations, and closing arguments
  • Humanizing corporate clients

May it Please the Court is told in the context of some of Mr. Webb’s headline-making cases. Some of these trials involved the largest companies in the world while others exposed and eradicated institutionalized corruption in government.

Learn more about the book and the praise it has received here.

A reception was held on April 8, 2015, during which Mr. Webb and Hon. Kocoras discussed the process of writing the book and signed copies for attendees. Below are photos of Mr. Webb (left) and Hon. Kocoras (right) at the reception.
