Litigation Partner Kimball Anderson is featured in Leading Lawyers Magazine—Business Edition. The profile, “Quietly Changing Lives One Case at a Time,” outlines how Kimball has changed the world through his legal practice.

Laura Coleman, vice president of litigation with Corning Incorporated, who has worked with Kimball for over 20 years, said: “Kimball approaches a case from day one with the focus of a trial lawyer. He sees many steps down the road and often identifies strategies that others do not. In my experience, Kimball will either win a case outright or have it expertly prepared for trial.”

But it’s not just Kimball’s trial skills that make him stand out as prominent litigator. He is also committed to public service.

The article discusses Kimball’s first appearance before the U.S. Supreme Court. Representing Warren Harris pro bono in a federal habeas corpus action, the high court ruled in favor of Mr. Harris who was incarcerated after being found guilty in connection with a homicide. The court remanded to the 7th Circuit Court, which ruled he did receive ineffective counsel. Mr. Harris was released after 12 years of imprisonment.

The article also highlights Kimball’s successful practice as a commercial attorney, having taken on patent trolls in national cases for large corporations; his role as the founding president and board chair of the AIDS Legal Council; the advanced trial advocacy class he leads through the University of Illinois College of Law; and his continued commitment to pro bono, including his role as founder and former-chairman of Winston’s pro bono committee.
