Winston partner Kathi Vidal, who recently rejoined the firm after serving as Under Secretary of Commerce for IP and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, attended the 2025 Sedona Conference on Global Intellectual Property Litigation, held from March 23-25, 2025 in The Hauge—the permanent home of the United Nations’ International Court of Justice and the seat of government of the Netherlands.

Kathi participated in a roundtable discussion with Patent Office leaders. She was joined by Stephen Rowan of the European Patent Office and Adam Williams of the UK IPO. The conversation covered everything from the European Commission dropping the Standard Essential Patent (SEP) regulation proposal to the global attack on innovation and IP.
