Winston & Strawn partner and Executive Committee member Kathi Vidal was featured in Managing IP, where she discussed the firm’s intellectual property practice and its ongoing evolution to meet the needs of clients across key global markets.
Kathi emphasized the depth and balance of the firm’s IP capabilities. “If you look at the IP space right now, firms need to draw from a broader group of talent to successfully defend or prosecute a case,” she said. She highlighted that Winston combines a formidable patent and IP litigation group with a strong corporate practice, allowing the firm to offer clients a comprehensive, well-rounded approach.
Looking ahead, Kathi shared plans to further strengthen the IP bench through strategic hires, including talent from government agencies such as the US Patent and Trademark Office and the Department of Justice. She noted that these additions will enhance the firm’s ability to anticipate and respond to global IP trends.
The upcoming combination with Taylor Wessing will complement these strengths by expanding cross-border capabilities across the US, UK, and EU jurisdictions. With more than 1,400 lawyers and 20 offices spanning the US, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, Winston Taylor will enable even more seamless collaboration to serve clients worldwide.
