Winston & Strawn partner Jonathan Birenbaum was named to Tamarindo’s 2026 Legal Power List. This series highlights the 100 most influential lawyers globally who are advancing the energy transition through high-impact deals and strategic legal advice.

Jonathan is resident in Winston’s New York office and has practiced law for over 40 years. Among other accomplishments, Jonathan merited this award for his work in 2025 leading the Winston team that advised Altus Power on its purchase of a 234MW solar and storage portfolio from Greenbacker comprising over 100 sites across 18 states.

Selection is based on lawyers’ involvement in the most significant or innovative project finance and M&A transactions supporting the energy transition. Tamarindo’s researchers choose honorees by evaluating publicly reported deal activity, as well as contributions including structuring complex transactions and developing innovative approaches that influence the broader industry.
