Associate John Arszulowicz was recently featured in a Lawyer Spotlight by the American Bar Association. In the article, he reflects on his path to becoming a lawyer, the practice areas that inspire him, and his leadership in advancing inclusion.
“I started life as an orphan in South Korea, and along with my two sisters—also orphans from South Korea and the Philippines—I was adopted by an incredibly kind and loving family,” he shared. “That gift of family and opportunity shaped everything about who I am today. It taught me that second chances matter, that community matters, and that advocacy can change lives.”
After serving in the U.S. Air Force, including time in combat zones, he turned to law as a way to continue serving. “Law school became that path. It offered me the chance to take my life experiences and turn them into tools for helping others navigate complexity and uncertainty.”
Today, he practices across tax, corporate finance, government contracts, investigations, and international trade, and is an active member of Winston’s Diverse Ability Network. “Inclusion isn’t just a principle—it’s a daily practice,” he said.
