Jennifer Golinveaux Discusses the Rise of LGBT Lawyers in Big Law

San Francisco Partner Jennifer Golinveaux discussed the rise of LGBT Lawyers in Big Law with The American Lawyer.

Jennifer reflected on her own experience as an LGBT lawyer and said, “When I started practicing at a big Silicon Valley firm in 1999, I was advised not to come out for career reasons,” but that changed by the time she moved to Winston in 2004.

She also said that rather than a liability, being an LGBT lawyer can be a career-enhancer, noting “it’s actually helpful with clients (and) it’s included in the diversity metric.”
