Jeffrey Kessler Speaks at Bloomberg Sports Business Summit

Winston & Strawn partner Jeffrey Kessler spoke at the Bloomberg Sports Business Summit on September 10, 2013 in New York City.

The Bloomberg Sports Business Summit brings together the commissioners, team owners, players, and bankers who drive the business of sports. The program covers the year's biggest deals in sports, the outlook for M&A, broadcast rights, and the business strategies driving the world's most valuable franchises. 

Mr. Kessler participated in the panel "At the Table With the Player's Union." The panel addressed questions such as:

• With recent agreements reached with the four main sports unions, how are unions shifting their strategy to better position their player membership?
• How much will the focus shift to growing league revenue or improving player safety?
• How are unions building a better support through player pensions?

Mr. Kessler was joined by James Quinn, co-chairman for global litigation practice at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP; Ron Klempner, acting executive director of the National Basketball Player's Association; and George Atallah, assistant executive director of external affairs at the National Football League Players Association.
