Intellectual Property Practice Co-Chair Chuck Klein Receives Honorable Mention for The American Lawyer’s “Litigator of the Week”

Winston & Strawn Intellectual Property Co-Chair Chuck Klein received an honorable mention for “Litigator of the Week” by The American Lawyer.

The recognition stems from Chuck’s significant win for client Hikma Pharmaceuticals on March 30 in a drug patent dispute with Amarin Corp. Chuck and the trial team used critical concessions brought about during their cross examination of Amarin’s experts to convince the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada to invalidate six patents as obvious, allowing Hikma to launch their own generic version of the drug Vascepa®. Amarin’s patents for the drug, which is approved for the treatment of severe hypertriglyceridemia, were not set to expire until 2030.
