Winston & Strawn Intellectual Property Practice Co-chair David Enzminger is quoted in Law360’s February 7 article titled “The Firms That Fielded The Most Patent Cases.” Winston came in second in Lex Machina’s ranking of 2017 defense firms and is listed as among “The Go-To Firms for Patent Suit Targets.” Winston has been actively pushing into new geographic areas, which, according to David, is helping to boost the firm’s client base.

In the wake of TC Heartland, which redrew the map of patent litigation in the U.S. by holding that patent lawsuits could be filed only where defendants are incorporated or have a place of business, David tells Law360 that “the decision is a net benefit to our firm because we have offices in most of the jurisdictions that have become the next best jurisdictions. Our geographic footprint is helping us maintain market share in what is by all accounts a down market.”
