April 26, 2018

Winston & Strawn and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution’s (ICDR) Young & International Group hosted “Important Trends in International Dispute Resolution” on April 26, 2018 in Chicago.

This program addressed current trends and best practices in international arbitration and international litigation from the perspective of the various participants in the process, including in-house counsel, external counsel, and international arbitrators. The program provided a forum for attorneys and clients who have questions regarding, or an interest in, the latest practices for resolving international disputes that are proven to produce timely, cost-effective, and fair results. The program also explored the key differences between litigation and arbitration, as well as pros/cons of these two forms of dispute resolution. The discussion was useful for clients and practitioners who must decide which form of dispute resolution is best when drafting a dispute resolution clause in a cross–border contract. Partner and International Arbitration Practice Chair Ricardo Ugarte was a panelist.
