Gus Membiela Discusses Miami’s Rise as an International Dispute Hub with Daily Business Review

Winston & Strawn Partner Gus Membiela was quoted in a Daily Business Review article where he discussed Miami’s growing reputation as an international hub for international arbitration and other global disputes. Miami’s historical relationship with Latin America and the global reliance on a globalized economy has set the foundation for institutions supporting international dispute resolution. 

Like most Miami-based upticks these days, Gus noted that another aspect of Miami’s rise in international disputes is all the foreign money flowing through the city. “We’ve seen a big increase in the Latin American practice of companies trying to enter the U.S. market,” he said. “Eventually, that’s going to lead to disputes.”
