Eleni Kouimelis Named Lawyer of the Year by the Hellenic Bar Association Foundation

Winston & Strawn Environmental Practice Chair Eleni Kouimelis has been named 2019 Lawyer of the Year by The Hellenic Bar Association Foundation.

Eleni focuses her practice on environmental issues that arise in a variety of contexts, including transactions, compliance counseling, and litigation. She has received numerous honors and awards including listings in Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, Illinois Super Lawyer, and Who’s Who Legal. Eleni was selected by the United Hellenic Voters of America to be honored as, “The Most Distinguished Greek-American of 2017” in Leadership.

Eleni is committed to pro bono work and to serving others. She is a founding member and President of Hellenic Legal Assistance Services (Hel.LAS), a not for profit legal aid clinic. Eleni is a former President of the HBA, a board member of the Hellenic Foundation, and a board member of the HBA Foundation.

She was honored at the 69th Annual Scholarship Ball on November 2 at the Fairmont Hotel in Chicago. This year’s event spotlighted Greek Americans who have dedicated their lives to philanthropy, humanitarianism, and service to others.
