Winston & Strawn and Environmental Resources Management (ERM) hosted a joint webinar on power plant Decommissioning, Decontamination and Demolition (“DDD”) on Thursday, September 6, 2012.
This presentation discussed the regulatory drivers associated with coal plant shutdown decision-making as well as repowering due to the low cost of natural gas. The speakers also discussed the strategy around DDD’ing a plant, the risks and benefits, as well as the legal issues around land and liability transfers. Specifically, the webinar addressed:
