Dan Webb Quoted Regarding Government Challenge to Cellini Representation
December 19, 2008
Firm chairman Dan Webb was quoted in articles appearing on the Bloomberg wire (December 18) and in The Chicago Tribune (December 19) regarding a federal prosecution filing to have him disqualified from representing William Cellini, based on the firm's previous representation of Thomas Rosenberg. Cellini was charged in October of this year with conspiracy in trying to block state investment in a Rosenberg production unless a contribution was made to Governor Blagojevich's campaign fund. In a strongly worded statement Cellini pleaded not guilty. In the December 18 court appearance for the government's disqualification motion, Webb told U.S. District Court Judge James B. Zagel, "We don't believe it has any merit whatsoever."
