Winston & Strawn chairman Dan Webb was quoted in the Chicago Tribune article "Grand Jury Convened to Probe 2004 Death Involving Daley Nephew," published July 19, 2012.

Mr. Webb told reporters that a grand jury with full subpoena powers is currently hearing evidence regarding the 2004 death of David Koschman, who died after a fight involving Richard "R.J." Vanecko, a Daley family member. The controversial case was re-opened after an investigative series by the Chicago Sun-Times suggested that Chicago police and Cook County prosecutors may have concealed evidence for political reasons. Mr. Webb was appointed special prosecutor.

Mr. Webb, who has assembled a team of attorneys to work on the case, acknowledged that the investigation has been complicated by the years that have passed since Koschman's death. "Because of the age of the case, we are trying to sort it all out," said Mr. Webb, adding that the Koschman family "deserves answers."
