Dan Webb Named as Chicago Lawyer’s “Person of the Year”
December 1, 2008
Winston & Strawn chairman Dan Webb was named "2008 Person of the Year" in the December 2008 issue of Chicago Lawyer magazine. The profile highlights his extensive career and background at the firm, as well as his prior experience as a U.S. attorney in Chicago, and his defense of former Illinois Governor George Ryan and former U.S. Representative Dan Rostenkowski. Additionally, the article mentions several of his high-profile litigation matters on behalf of Microsoft, General Electric, Philip Morris USA, and the New York Stock Exchange.
"It is Webb's enormous preparation, his willingness to take tough cases and his down-home, 'winning way' with juries and judges that sets him apart from other excellent trial lawyers," Winston senior chairman James R. Thompson told Chicago Lawyer. "He just exudes sincerity. No court or juror would ever think that Dan was telling them something that wasn't so."
