Charlie Papavizas Chairs Two Panels at OSV & Subsea Vessel North America Conference

Winston & Strawn partner Charlie Papavizas chaired two panels at the OSV & Subsea Vessel North America conference in Houston on March 17-18, 2015. The conference was dedicated to vessels involved in offshore support services, subsea construction, and intervention.

Mr. Papavizas chaired the “Navigating Opportunities in Regional Hot-Spots” panel on March 17. The discussion concentrated on applying the Jones Act and operating in the U.S. Gulf, and provided a Jones Act regulation update and a review of implications for specialized vessels. 

On March 18, Mr. Papavizas chaired the “Finance Focus and Commercial Perspectives” panel, which analyzed and provided an outlook on OSV & subsea vessel finance. Specific topics included assessing the post-crisis financial landscape, client and bank relationship perceptions, whether alternative financing is the future, and a discussion of the loan capital ratio and implications for lending. 

Based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, Mr. Papavizas chairs the firm’s maritime and admiralty practice. He focuses his practice on administrative, legislative, and corporate matters, primarily in the maritime industry.
