Charlie Papavizas Speaks at 2016 International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum
October 3, 2016
Maritime & Admiralty Practice Chair Charlie Papavizas spoke at 2016 IPF in Newport, Rhode Island on October 3.
Mr. Papavizas presented on the topic “OSW Developers Outsmart Century-Old Federal Law” as part of the working with and under the Jones Act panel which addressed the following topics:
- Is the Jones Act all hype, a show-stopper, or an expensive barrier that is preventing or slowing the development of U.S. OSW projects?
- What types of vessels are needed?
- How will U.S. developers balance project installation, construction, and maintenance while complying with the Jones Act?
Mr. Papavizas is frequently consulted on the application of U.S. coastwise laws (Jones Act) to cargo, passenger, and vessel movements and investments in U.S. companies.
