Charlie Papavizas Discusses Controversial Bayside Route with Intrafish

Winston & Strawn Maritime Partner Charlie Papavizas sat down with Intrafish to discuss an injunction granted six months ago to affiliates of pollock heavyweight American Seafoods. The injunction stops a U.S. Customs and Border Protection enforcement action threatening Alaskan pollock producers’ ability to supply U.S. customers via a route known as the “Bayside Program.”

“Judges naturally tend to be careful in writing decisions with substantial national consequences, and so it should come as no surprise that we have not yet seen a decision,” Charlie said.
